The studio

Where we are and who you will be working with

Aydın is a provincial capital in western Turkey, inland from the Aegean coast and in the same region as İzmir and Kuşadası. Our studio is in Efeler, Aydın's central district, and it is the only physical Mia Porfiria Ink location. Clients also travel to us from Nazilli, Söke, Kuşadası and Didim.

The studio was founded by Mia Porfiria, who has been tattooing for 22 years. Salih Çelik has been tattooing for 11 years, and Cengizhan Tansun completes the team. Between them they cover a wide range of styles, so the conversation usually starts with your idea rather than with a fixed menu of designs.

If you are visiting Turkey and want to plan ahead, message us before you travel. We answer in English, and it helps to agree on the design and the session length before you arrive.

What we work in

These are the directions clients ask for most. They are not separate products — most projects sit somewhere between them.

Realism & portrait

Photo-referenced portraits, animals and objects. Light and shadow transitions take longer sessions but hold up well over time.

Fine line & minimal

Thin, even linework. Usually chosen for smaller pieces and understated designs.

Black & grey

Grey tones built from diluted black ink. One of the most durable approaches as a tattoo ages.

Chicano & lettering

A tradition built around portraits and script, with strong shading and typographic detail.

Geometric & ornamental

Symmetry, repetition and mandala logic. How the pattern sits on the body's lines matters as much as the drawing.

Cover-up

A new design built over an existing tattoo. Depending on how dark the old work is, a few laser sessions may be needed first.

Consultation

You send the idea, the approximate size and the body area over WhatsApp. We tell you whether it works and roughly how long it will take.

Design

A drawing is prepared for you. We go through it together before the session and revise it if needed.

Session

Applied in a sterile setting with single-use needles and equipment. Longer sessions include regular breaks.

Aftercare

You leave with written aftercare instructions, and you can reach us with questions while it heals.

Pricing depends on the size of the design, how dense the detail is, whether colour is involved and how long the application is expected to take. We can only give an exact figure once the design is settled, but we share a range during the consultation.

A tattoo does cause a degree of discomfort, and how strong it feels depends on the person and the placement. Fleshier areas such as the outer arm, calf and back are generally easier; areas close to bone such as the ribs, ankle and inner arm are more sensitive.

How do I book a tattoo appointment in Aydın?

Appointments are made over WhatsApp. Message +90 507 006 01 69 with your tattoo idea, its approximate size and the body area you want it on. The studio is at Kurtuluş Mahallesi 2013 Sokak No 3/B, Efeler / Aydın, and is open 24 hours a day, every day.

How is the price decided?

Price depends on the size of the design, how dense the detail is, whether colour is used and the estimated application time. An exact figure can only be given once the design is settled; we share a range during the consultation.

Does getting a tattoo hurt?

There is a degree of discomfort, and how strong it feels depends on the person and the placement. Fleshier areas such as the outer arm, calf and back are generally easier; areas close to bone such as the ribs, ankle and inner arm are more sensitive.

Can you tattoo over an existing tattoo?

Yes — that is what we call a cover-up. Depending on how dark the old work is, a few Pico laser sessions may be needed first to lighten it. Our cover-up page covers suitability, how the design is planned and real before-and-after work.

Do you tattoo people under 18?

No. We do not tattoo or pierce anyone under the age of 18. Please bring valid photo ID to your appointment.
