Foundation
Hygiene and sterilisation protocols, machine and needle knowledge, and drawing fundamentals for students with no prior experience.
Academy
Mia Porfiria Academy runs inside a working tattoo studio in Efeler, Aydın — not a classroom. Groups are kept small so every student gets one-to-one mentoring while real work is going on around them.
The setting
The academy is part of Mia Porfiria Ink, a tattoo studio in Efeler, the central district of Aydın in western Turkey. Training happens in the same space where the studio tattoos its clients, which means hygiene routines, equipment handling and studio workflow are learned in context rather than in theory.
Class sizes are deliberately limited. Because intake is capped, programmes open in periods rather than continuously — message us for the current schedule.
If you are considering travelling for the training, contact us first — the language of instruction and the schedule are worth settling before you make any plans.
Curriculum
Hygiene and sterilisation protocols, machine and needle knowledge, and drawing fundamentals for students with no prior experience.
Technique development for students who can already tattoo and want to sharpen line, shading and composition.
Deeper work on style, planning larger pieces and building a coherent portfolio.
How it runs
We place you at the level that matches your experience rather than starting everyone in the same group.
Sterilisation protocols, machine setup and needle selection come before any application work.
Hands-on practice starts on synthetic skin and stays there until the technique is solid.
Work on a real person only begins when your teacher considers you ready, and only under supervision.
Good to know
Studio equipment is used throughout the training. If you want to buy your own machine, we advise you on the choice rather than selling you one.
At the end of the programme the academy issues its own certificate of attendance. Separately, we provide preparation and application guidance for the Turkish journeyman and mastery examinations run through MEB and the Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, and for MYK vocational qualification. These are national processes — the academy supports your application, it does not award those qualifications.
Support does not stop when the programme ends. Students can come back with questions about technique, equipment and setting up their own practice.
