Picosecond pulses
Energy is delivered in extremely short pulses rather than a longer burst.
Tattoo removal
Removal is done at Mia Porfiria Ink's studio in Efeler, Aydın — the same place, and the same team, that applies tattoos. We use a picosecond pulsed laser, which breaks ink pigment into much finer particles than older Q-switch systems.
Start here
We do not quote a number of sessions before seeing the tattoo. Ink colour, how deep it sits, the age of the work and your skin type all change the answer, so the first step is a free in-person assessment at the studio in Efeler, Aydın.
Two different goals are possible, and they need different plans. Full removal aims to clear the tattoo entirely. Lightening only opens the ink enough for a new design to be applied over it — that usually takes fewer sessions than full removal.
If you are travelling to Turkey for this, note that removal is not a single visit. Sessions are spaced weeks apart so the skin can recover and the body can clear the broken-down pigment.
How it works
Energy is delivered in extremely short pulses rather than a longer burst.
Ink is shattered into smaller fragments, which the body can then carry away.
Black ink generally responds fastest. Coloured work can also respond, but the number of sessions and the timeline can differ.
Cooling support is used throughout the session. The discomfort felt during the procedure is short-lived.
Process
We look at the tattoo, discuss whether you want full removal or lightening, and explain what is realistic.
A plan is built for your tattoo rather than a fixed package. Intervals of several weeks are left between sessions.
Each session is carried out with cooling support and aftercare instructions are given afterwards.
We check progress between sessions and adjust the plan as the ink responds.
Good to know
Nobody can promise a specific number of sessions in advance, and we will not give you one before seeing the tattoo. Anyone who does is guessing.
When the aftercare instructions are followed the risk of scarring is low, but every skin type behaves differently — which is exactly why the assessment happens before any session is booked.
You do not have to remove a tattoo completely. If your goal is a new piece in the same place, lightening is often enough, and we can plan the cover-up alongside it.
FAQ
It depends on the ink colour, how deep it sits, the age of the tattoo and your skin type. Black ink usually responds fastest. An exact number can only be given after an in-person assessment where the tattoo is examined.
Several weeks are usually left between sessions so the skin can heal and the body can clear the broken-down pigment. The exact interval is set during the assessment.
It depends on your pain threshold; the discomfort felt during the session is short-lived. Cooling support is used throughout the application.
When the aftercare instructions are followed the risk is low. Every skin type is different, so the process varies from person to person — which is why we carry out an assessment first.
Black pigments generally respond faster. Results are possible with coloured tattoos too, but the number of sessions and the timeline can differ. Some pigments respond more slowly than others.
No. If you want new work over the same area, lightening the ink is usually enough rather than removing it entirely, and this generally needs fewer sessions.
